Happy New Year !

We would like to wish to all our friends and listeners a wonderful New Year.
2016 has been a great year, we had the chance to do so many things that we still can't believe those things has happened, and we are so excited to see what 2017 will bring us.
For 2017 we have a lot's of projects so keep on following :).

Soja - Jah Atmosphere

I feel guilty. Almost. Today is the last day of 2016, and I can't remember such a good year in my life. This year I have reached a total new level of consciousness and faith and this totally changed my vision of life. I never ever experienced such a radical change and this reflected in my whole being, outside and inside. The last twelve months have been an amazing journey and I can't wait to start the new path that it is unfolding in front of me. I know it had been a very hard year for the world in general. Wars, people forced to flee their home countries, people displaced and dispossessed and discriminated against. But this year I realized I have a weapon against this: my heart. I can fight all this falling desperately in love with humanity and this is what I have done. I started advocating what I believe it is right, I tried to give voice to the voiceless, to bring sunshine in the darkness. I don't know if or in which measure I succeded in this, but knowing that I did my best makes all the difference. It makes me feel like I can actually create good and work for the Highest Good, the Perfect Love, the Heaven on Earth. Last may one of the most important person in my life passed away, or passed on. Even that loss, the despair that caught me those first days of parting ways in the long run have been positive, because it made me realize how death it is not the end. The enrgy, the love, the good feeling of my beloved will never cease to exist, but now they are free to flow and fly and fill the world and fill me, not confined anymore in a phisical body. Pure Love and Energy. And this life is so good, and this creation so amazing and Love will Rule soon, if we all set our minds on this aim <3 I reflected a lot about which could be the closing song of my 2016. So many good tunes, so many new artists that I got to know thanks my work for our fierce and indipendent radio hard task indeed lol. Than I came across one of the first songs that lead me to this new me: Jah Atmosphere, by SOJA. And I was back at one year ago, the bitterness, the sadness, the depressive mood, and saw all the trod that brought me where I am now... ...What would you do to gain the world? Sell our souls for diamond and pearl? What would you do to reach the top With smiling face stab a brother in his back What would you do to have it all? Climb a corporate ladder To see your own brother fall? What I'm gonna do on my judgment day, When all iniquity fade and righteousness stay InI a soldier 'till the end ... ...JUST MAKE THE CHILDREN SEE THE PAST DON'T HAVE TO BE THEIR FUTURE ... And this is my wish for you all, for the humanity, for the oppressed and the oppressors, the past don't have to be our future <3 Again, Jah children, the past is not our future. My most heartfelt best wishes for a bright 2017. Jah loves us all. ONE LOVE, ONE AIM, ONE DESTINY <3 <3

This morning I'm quite upset. Yesterday evening the bad news of the local refugee camp closing by the beginning of june spread in our community. My reaction was of disbelief, as just two days ago one of our friend from the camp was here and we were talking about his situation, his hopes for the future, about the fact that he was becoming an important part of this community, with a lot of friends and people caring for him. And now all the people there, who already underwent so many awful situations to arrive here, will be displaced once again. After more than one year in which they tried and hoped for a new life here they will be packed up as boxes and moved away to start all over again. A never ending story of pain, rejection and hopelessness. This is not fair. Not at all. And what is even more disgusting has been some comments from (few ) pathetic racists who welcomed with joy this news. How small people can get when confined in the limits of self imposed fear and how unwise from every country to feed hate to their citizens to make them even more narrow minded and fearful. Or maybe it is just what the governements want : divide and rule, divide et impera. Us vs. Them. Always. But we have the strongest weapon even against this tactic, and this weapon is love. We have to realize that our only hope is to be one. ONE PEOPLE. This morning I want to share this beautiful tune from DrOlugander ''Equal rights and Justice ''

...EQUAL RIGHTS & JUSTICE" ever be my song, so that I'll be able to see the Promised Land...

Equal rights and justice ever be OUR song, as we are ONE PEOPLE

Scars - Emmanuel Jal feat. Nelly Furtado

Greetings family ! First of all I want to thank you all for the great response to our show yesterday, We had so many listeners all around the world, it has been amazing. Thank you to each one of you !
This morning I want to share this beautiful video of a song I played during yesterday's show ''Scars'' by Emmanuel Jal and Nelly Furtado. The video is a pure poem of how life is at the same time tragic and wonderful.

... My scars are what got me this far
And now I can touch the stars
Coz it don’t matter who you are
Who you are are
We all got scars

As a little girl
Painted my whole world
Where the strange palette, but a palette that was mine
And if I felt pain, I washed it away
With the melody and a smile
It worked every time ...

The lyrics are so truthful. Our scars got us this far, and no matter who we are, we can indeed touch the stars. Our different palettes makes this world a beautiful painting of what life is about. Let's never dull our colors.
So, once again thank you all for making this Christmas special, thank you to the Most High for showing me the power of love.

Family can you feel it too ? We are one

Do they Know it's Christmas ~ Band Aid 1984

The day after tomorrow it's Christmas. For the first time ever all the presents are wrapped, all the groceries have been bought, all the meals have been planned. But for the first time ever I really don't feel that Christmas feeling at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sad or depressed and I'm very happy to see joy and excitement in the face of my children, but so much is going on in the world that it seems so unfair to celebrate. I do believe in Jesus so for me Christmas was the coming of the Christ, was the light coming back and conquering the evil (hence the choice of solstice ). But this year more than ever I realized that as 'CHRISTmas believers ' we must have failed somewhere, as it seems nowadays to be an inner thing of a small group of lucky ones.I'm sure there's no Christmas tree in Aleppo, or in Sudan,or in post-hurricane Haiti or...or...or.... and this should change ( and of course I'm using the christmas tree as a metaphore, I'm not talking about going and indoctrinating anybody ). It came on my mind this song,' Do they know it's Christmas' and looked for it. Of course made me smile, everybody was so young and so '80s ;) and I was only 8 years old at that time. We might consider this song naive or cheesy but reading the lyrics ( which at that time I think were referring mostly to some famine and drought in Africa ) they are still so unfortunately actual.

...It's Christmastime; there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime

But say a prayer to pray for the other ones
At Christmastime
It's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears ...

Let's finally be the change. One Perfect Love <3 <3 <3 for everyone

Miriam Makeba - Pata Pata (Live at Avo Session, Basel, 2006)

There's no better way to start your day than listen to amazing music. I found this amazing live video of the one and only Mama Afrika, the beloved Miriam Makeba. Such energy, such beautiful smile. Once more I bow in front of african culture and music and art, apologizing for the western colonial mess. We all can find our roots in the Holy Land of Africa.
Have a blessed day

Who is Rastafari - Ras Haile Malekot

Greetings family,I wanted to thank everybody who listened yesterday's show, we had lots of listeners and I like to think that among those numbers and flags there was some of you <3 It has been a great special, with the surprise call of Carl Mc Donald , a great friend and an amazing artist, we had a lot of fun and laughs and we gave as well the sad news that the 31 of december we will stop the local on air broadcasting on 106fm (but don't worry the web-radio will stay, onward and forward always ! ). Yesterday I played a few of my favourite songs, fullfilling my call not only to spread good music, but to use the fortunate chance to run a radio station, to spread love, positive thoughts and to give voice to the voiceless, to address important issues in the world. I played Deraja Mamby, Emmanuel Jal, Tiken Jah Fakoly, songs filled with unsettling truths that need to be told. The last song I played was Ras Haile Malekot 'Who is Rastafari' which is a beam of light and love as it ends with such a sweet truth '' Rastafari is divine love''. Well as I see it our only hope as human family is to live in and spread divine love with our fellows and neighbours.
Love to all <3 <3

Vagina (Lyric Video) - Emmanuel Jal feat. Jah Miracle

A few days ago I already shared a video from Emmanuel Jal, as I always do when I find an interesting artist I try to learn more about them and their music. So I found the video I'm sharing today. I had to think twice before choosing to share this. The video is very unsettling, strong images and words. I kept thinking it could be disturbing for some people. But it is much more disturbing to be the ones who are still suffering from what is denounced in this song, so after all here I am sharing the song AND some thoughts about it. If we find this video too strong, if we think the words are too raw, than we should reconsider the fact that Africa and its people have suffered from 400 years of colonialism, of constant stealing of goods, of constant distruction of cultures for the sake of Europe. I can't still understand how it is possible that colonialism has not been listed as a crime against humanity and how it is possible that not only Europe never gave any compensation for what has been done, but as european people, as 'western people' we are rised believing that we're the good doers, the ones who are saving the world from their misery, while our way of life is dragging the world into misery. I'm so outraged of being lied for so long, because those lies lead me to live a non-conscious life for so long. So I apologize if this video is disturbing, but I really hope we can keep in mind these images when we spot diamonds and golds in our shops or when we carelessly use oil or oil byproducts.

Peace and justice for all

Bob Marley - WAR

As more and more disheartening news come from the world, from Syria, from African countries, it is so easy to fall into dispair. What is maybe even worse, in my opinion, it is the mean, petty and complaining attitude that I see around me on every day bases, when probably we should just be glad and happy and in love with each other and thankful with the Almighty for the chance we have to live in peace and have food on the table. Prophet Bob Marley's song WAR, based upon a powerful speech of HIM Haile Selassie I , says it all.

...That until there no longer
First class and second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man's skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes -
Me say war.

That until the basic human rights
Are equally guaranteed to all,
Without regard to race -
Dis a war.

That until that day
The dream of lasting peace,
World citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained -
Now everywhere is war - war...

Jah Bless us all <3 <3

Blind Channel Band gig. Reportage.

Last saturday, two members of RQL staff went to the concert of the great Blind Channel band in Bar Loose in Helsinki. It has been an amazing evening with the band really at its top. The set-list started with 'My revolution', one of their most energetic song and it went on with tunes like 'Unforgiven', ' Bullet (with your name on it) 'and many more. During the show we have been also treated with a real gem, the violent-pop version of Ed Sheeran's 'Don't'. Blind Channel ( as we already stated a few times here or here ) are really a great band, with good music and an obvious love for what they do. After the show we even had the chance to meet the band and talk with them: kind, down on earth young men who are committed with their music and fans. Not even to say, since last saturday I keep finding myself singing one of their tunes, so if you have the chance I strongly advise you to go and see them live, they are sure worth it !

Here some pictures of the show :

Have a wonderful and lovely evening !!

Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up Live In Dortmund

Yesterday was a day filled with good news from the world. The most important one was the amazing victory in North Dakota. Standing Rock, natives and protectors have been in our hearts and prayers for so long that we were almost moved to tears when we read that the power of love, of peace, of prayers was overcoming the evil. This is a demostration that united we can stand over the wickedness and that we don't need violence to overcome brutality. Love can conquer all. Prophet Bob Marley words of truth :
...You can fool some people sometimes
But you couldn't fool all the people all the time
And now we see the light
You stand up for your rights!

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight! ...

One Love, One Life, One Aim, One Destiny, ONE PEOPLE
